South Jersey Week 4 high school football games to watch, plus full weekend schedule

A new No. 1-ranked team has surfaced in the latest South Jersey Sports Zone Top 15 high school football rankings after St. Augustine's 42-14 triumph over Winslow Township in the first meeting for coach Bill Belton against his former team.

Syracuse commit Charlie Foulke IV shined in his debut for Glassboro.

Defending Group 5 state champion Washington Township survived a 19-point rally by Group 4 state title contender Atlantic City to remain unbeaten for the 18th straight game.

Arthur P. Schalick stunned Salem in a potential Group 1 playoff preview. The game was decided by a controversial TD call with 12 seconds left.

It was a jam-packed week with several storylines.

With Week 3 in the books, Week 4 is on deck for New Jersey high school football.

Here's an inside look at five of this weekend's top matchups in South Jersey with players to watch, matchup history, predictions from myself, Chris Baker and Roderick Boyd, and a complete schedule of games involving West Jersey Football League teams located throughout the traditional seven-county (Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem) South Jersey region:

Vineland (3-1 record) at Bridgeton (3-1), Fri., Sept. 25th, 6 pm

The Fighting Clan extended their win streak to three games with a 35-6 win over Cumberland last Thursday. Carlton Thomas rushed for 134 yards and 2 TDs. George Figueroa III ran for 2 TDs and Elyjah Calderon added a 10-yard TD run. Calderon was 3-for-4 passing with 77 yards and completed a pair of passes to Figueroa III for 69 yards. Bahrius Hill recorded 5 tackles and an INT. William Sheppard had a team-high 6 tackles for Vineland.

The Bulldogs also won their third consecutive game with a 24-6 decision against St. Joseph. Kyheem Simpson finished 5-for-10 passing with 147 yards and 2 TDs. Vascell McKoy had 157 yards and a TD on the ground. Rakeem Stubbs scored on a 2-yard run. Jah'Zeer Thompson reeled in 2 receptions for 89 yards and 2 TDs. Jayden Barnett tallied 15 tackles, 2 TFL and a sack. Stubbs finished with 10 tackles and 2 TFL. Thompson had 9 tackles with a TFL. E'Shion Underwood recorded 8 tackles and 2 TFL. Bridgeton has lost four of its last five against the Fighting Clan. Four of the last five meetings in the series were also settled via shutout. The Bulldogs last win against Vineland was a 20-0 decision in 2021.

Eastern (3-1) at Lenape (2-2), Fri., Sept. 25th, 6 pm

A'Shaad Carter ran for 233 yards and 2 TDs as the Vikings earned a 38-13 statement win at Northern Burlington in Columbus last Friday. St. Joseph transfer Anthony Salamone finished 13-for-20 passing with 174 yards, 2 TDs and an INT in his debut for Eastern. Terry Cook hauled in 7 catches for 112 yards and a TD. Brayden Dove ran for 45 yards and a TD and Dave Fiori caught an 8-yard TD pass. The Vikings' defensive front dominated the line of scrimmage. Jonah Lee recorded 6 tackles, 3 TFL and a sack. Wesley Davis had 4 TFL and Mason Langenbach finished with 2.0 sacks.

The Indians rallied from a 20-point deficit to take a 21-20 lead but ultimately fell short in a 28-21 loss to Williamstown last Friday. Kellen Pierce ran for 50 yards and 3 TDs. Collin Cook finished 10-for-20 passing with 142 yards and an INT. Jaidyn Boyd reeled in 2 catches for 57 yards. Bryce Cummins and Malachi Taylor-Williams each recorded 8 tackles. Taylor-Williams also recovered a fumble. Pierce forced a fumble and Dylan Gambetta snared an INT. Asher Miller finished with 5 tackles and Khalil Fulton recorded a sack. Lenape has won three straight meetings and four of the last five against Eastern. The Vikings' last win in the series was a 34-14 victory in 2013. Tom Flacco, the younger brother of Super Bowl XLVII MVP Joe Flacco, threw for 166 yards and 4 TDs for Eastern in the win.

Northern Burlington (3-1) at Pennsauken (3-1), Fri., Sept. 25th, 6 pm

The Greyhounds suffered their first loss of the 2026 campaign with a 38-13 setback to Eastern. Quarterback Brent Walulak threw for 93 yards and ran for 48 yards and 2 TDs. The Marist baseball commit also recorded 8 tackles and an INT on defense. Josiah Ruttley had a game-high 10 tackles and a TFL for Northern Burlington. Danny Greene tallied 9 tackles. Mark Klusman tallied 6 tackles and a sack. Jake Vasil also recorded a sack and Joey Conley recovered a fumble.

The Indians responded to a loss to Vineland with a 28-21 win over Cherry Hill East last Friday. Pennsauken accumulated 312 yards on the ground. Quarterback Nazyr Negron ran for 112 yards and 2 TDs. Blaine Johnson averaged 32.3 yards per attempt with 97 yards and a score. DaiShaun Lassiter added 83 yards and a TD. Marcus Matthews charted 6 tackles, a TFL and a sack. Ronell Muns also finished with 6 tackles.

Pleasantville (2-2) at Burlington Township (3-1), Fri., Sept. 25th, 6 pm

After a 0-2 start to the season, the Greyhounds have earned back-to-back wins over Cedar Creek and Cherokee. Temple commit Takiesse Barnes had 2 INTs including an 18-yard INT return for TD in the 20-7 victory over the Chiefs in Marlton last Thursday. Raliel Wiggins returned a punt for a 98-yard score and caught a 17-yard TD pass from Virginia Tech recruit Semaj Dozier.

The Falcons rallied from a 14-0 deficit to upend Delsea, 26-14, for their third consecutive win last Friday. Burlington Township has won 13 of its last 15 games. Gerald Sackie rushed for 189 yards and 2 TDs. Julian Lattimore added 58 yards and a TD on the ground. Bryce Carter threw for 176 yards, a TD and an INT. Mekhi Curry reeled in 2 catches for 82 yards and Lamar Karnjay caught a 55-yard TD pass. Londyn Johnson, a Temple commit, recorded 12 tackles and a TFL. Kyheem Freeman had 10 tackles, a TFL, a sack and a fumble recovery. Seth Clelland and Kaleb Fisher each tallied a sack.

Overbrook (2-2) at Salem (1-3), Sat., Sept. 26th, 12 pm

The Rams of Pine Hill earned a 44-12 win over Burlington City last Friday. Axcel Bailey racked up 223 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. Andrew Gattuso added 86 yards and 2 TDs. Mark Hailstork finished 7-for-12 passing with 85 yards and a TD. Bilal Robinson, a 6-foot-8 Division I basketball recruit, caught 2 passes for 63 yards and a TD. Xyon Marshall recorded 6 tackles and 2 TFL for Overbrook. Jaevon Mitchell also had 6 tackles. Remiir Taylor recorded an INT. Andrew Powell and Jayon Pressley each had 3 tackles and a TFL. Connor McNally returned a block punt for an 8-yard score.

The Rams of Salem suffered a 15-14 loss to Schalick on a controversial TD call with 12 seconds left. An offsides penalty on a PAT attempt allowed the Cougars to move closer to the goal line and convert a two-point conversion for the win. Cashmir Parsley ran for 107 yards and a TD in the loss. Kyvion Parsons also scored on 10-yard run. Mahkye Murray racked up 10 tackles, 2 TFL and 2.0 sacks. Kamal Chatum added 8 tackles and 2 TFL. Parsley finished with 7 tackles and a TFL. Salem has won four straight meetings with Overbrook since 2010 and has outscored the Pine Hill program 121-0 in the last three matchups.
