South Jersey Week 3 high school football games to watch, plus full weekend schedule

Winslow Township topped Glassboro in a battle of two-time defending state champions.

Burlington Township cruised past Willingboro in coach Stephen Everette's return to his alma mater.

Group 4 state title contender Atlantic City earned its first win with a dominant effort against Eastern.

Woodbury stunned Gloucester County rival Gateway on a TD pass as time expired.

It was a jam-packed week with several storylines.

With Week 2 in the rearview mirror, Week 3 is on deck for New Jersey high school football.

Here's an inside look at five of this weekend's top matchups in South Jersey with players to watch, matchup history, predictions from myself, Chris Baker and Roderick Boyd, and a complete schedule of games involving West Jersey Football League teams located throughout the traditional seven-county (Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem) South Jersey region:

Camden (1-1 record) at Ocean City (3-0), Fri., Sept. 17th, 6 pm

The Panthers were idle after a 24-15 win over Holy Spirit on September 4. Na'eem Grays was 10-for-17 passing with 143 yards and 2 TDs. Jayden Boyce rushed for 131 yards and a score. He also reeled in 2 receptions for 68 yards and a TD. Roman Duckett ran for 51 yards. Naaim Presbery added 49 yards and a score on the ground. Kamau Ellis caught a 16-yard TD pass. Anthony Nelson led Camden with 7 tackles. Ahs'Zier Perry, Davian Roman and Chevon Whyles, Jr. each intercepted a pass. The Panthers recorded 6 TFL and 5.0 sacks.

The Red Raiders remained undefeated with a 31-0 victory over Absegami. Ocean City has posted two shutouts and has allowed only two points this season. Jackson Becker finished 15-for-21 passing with 194 yards, 2 TDs and an INT. Becker also rushed for 59 yards and a TD. Cole Garreffi had a team-high 84 yards on the ground with a score. Jake Chapman and Chase Dessicino each caught a TD pass. John Klebaur tallied 10 tackles and a TFL. Michael Marczyk finished with 9 tackles and a TFL. Chapman had 8 tackles, a TFL and a fumble recovery. Joe Pancoast contributed 7 tackles. The Red Raiders lost their last matchup with Camden, 32-20, in 2011.

Shawnee (3-0) at Rancocas Valley (3-0), Fri., Sept. 17th, 6 pm

Coach Tim Gushue earned career win No. 300 as the Renegades topped Cherry Hill East, 35-13, last Thursday. Gushue became only the fourth coach in South Jersey history to reach 300 wins. His career record is 300-151-6. Gushue trails only St. Joseph's Paul Sacco (358), Florence's Joe Frappolli (336) and Paulsboro's Glenn Howard (316) in career wins among South Jersey coaches. Cole Anderson led Shawnee with 284 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. Quarterback Niko Fifis was 10-for-13 passing with 79 yards. He also scored on a TD run. Parker Peluse had 57 yards and a score on the ground. Grayson Santucci had 2 catches for 40 yards. Johnny Sears registered a team-high 11 tackles and a blocked kick. Peluse and Jack Potter each had 8 tackles. Ryan Bock snared an INT. Jacob Frank had 5 tackles and a sack.

The Red Devils have yet to allow a point in 2026. Rancocas Valley recorded its third consecutive shutout with a 28-0 win over Kingsway. Aahmil Alghanee rushed a game-high 101 yards for while J.J. Stewart added 53 yards and a score. Quarterback Zach Merhar was 6-for-13 passing with 143 yards and 2 TDs. Andre Byrdsong reeled in 2 catches for 88 yards and a TD. Syracuse commit Mikey McQueen hauled in a team-high 5 receptions for 57 yards and a TD. McQueen also returned an INT for a score. David Ogunsola recorded 8 tackles, 4 TFL and a sack. Michael Beasley charted 8 tackles, 2 TFL and a sack. Thomas Ajasin had 7 tackles, 3 TFL and a sack. Kris Oesterle, Jr. tallied 7 tackles, a TFL and an INT. Amari Harrison matched Ogunsola with 8 tackles. The Red Devils have won three of their last four meetings with Shawnee since 2018.

Eastside (2-1) at Moorestown (3-0), Fri., Sept. 17th, 7 pm

The Tigers of East Camden pitched their second consecutive shutout with a 49-0 triumph over Hamilton West last Saturday. Eastside exploded for 28 points in the second quarter. Quarterback Caleb Shores shined with 281 yards and 4 TDs through the air. Iziah Guzman ran for 133 yards and 3 TDs. Gavin Rouse caught 3 passes for 88 yards and a score. Preston Brown, Jr. also had 3 catches for 80 yards and a TD. Tayjen Fooks and Zi Harvey each caught a deep TD pass. Temple commit Amara Dolleh recorded 10 tackles, 4 TFL and a sack. Monte Anderson forced a fumble and snared an INT. Jasool Clark, Ka'Heem Hamilton and Novaj Moore each tallied 3 tackles, a TFL and a sack. The Tigers have outscored opponents 84-0 over their last two games.

The Quakers have a 3-0 record through three games for the first time since 2022. A 35-0 win over Hightstown last Thursday was Moorestown's second shutout of the season. Ben Labroli rushed for 195 yards and 2 TDs. Cole Muhlschlegel added 84 yards on the ground and Brandon Cohen ran for a 9-yard score. Jake Eckert threw for 62 yards and 2 TDs. Cohen and Bryce Richards each reeled in a TD pass. Labroli, Richards and Dylan Anderson had INTs on defense. Max Cevallos charted a team-high 5 tackles. The Quakers and Eastside, formerly Woodrow Wilson, have split four meetings since 2012.

Haddon Heights (3-0) at Audubon (0-2), Sat., Sept. 19th, 11 am

The Garnets withstood a 14-point fourth quarter rally in a 16-14 win over Maple Shade last Friday. Amare Ridley ran for 138 yards and a TD. Quarterback Cameron Mayo also scored on a 5-yard run. Mayo's 7 tackles led Haddon Heights' defense. Zach Nevodonsky contributed 6 tackles. Ridley and Jamir Laroda recorded INTs. Jack Bailey finished with 5 tackles and a TFL.

The Green Wave dropped a 22-20 decision to Salem. Jude Cotter threw for 121 yards. Cotter and Jimmy Moran each ran for a score. Michael DeLuca reeled in 2 receptions for 65 yards. Jakobi Negron had 5 tackles, 2 TFL and a fumble recovery for a TD. Nolan Figueroa contributed a team-high 11 tackles. Mike Aversa finished with 6 tackles and an INT. Caleb Bakely also snared an INT. Audubon has won three of the last five meetings with the Garnets. Both schools are separated by 1.7 miles.

It's coach Bill Belton's first game against his former team.

The Eagles soared to a 21-7 victory over Glassboro in a showdown between two-time defending state champions. Winslow Township, the two-time defending Group 4 state champion, ended the Bulldogs' 29-game win streak. Ka'ron Ceaser returned a kick at the start of the third quarter for an 85-yard TD. Trey Alexander ran for a score and Toledo commit Andrew Kratee caught a 19-yard TD pass from Javon Thompson. Kratee finished with 4 receptions for 64 yards. Jayion Moss had 3 catches for 55 yards with a one-handed INT on defense. Moss also forced a fumble that was recovered by Tamir Rhett. Pierce Noel recorded an INT. Karl Vaughn, Jr. and Terrance Washington, Jr. each recorded a sack. The Eagles have won 22 straight games against teams from the traditional seven-county South Jersey area.

The Hermits remained unbeaten with a 41-7 triumph over Atlantic County rival Holy Spirit. Quarterback Dylan Dellanoce was 8-for-11 passing with 250 yards, 5 TDs and an INT. Frank Hoerst also threw a TD pass. Cincinnati commit Roman Coney rushed for a team-high 95 yards. Chase Wilder reeled in 4 catches for 102 yards and 2 TDs. Zehkiy DeJesus had 3 receptions for 89 yards and 2 TDs. T.J. Maddox turned a pair of catches into 89 yards and a score. Max Steel forced a fumble and Calvin Boone recovered a fumble. Christian Dunoff led St. Augustine with 8 tackles and a TFL. Jayden Robinson had 6 tackles and 2.0 sacks. Elijah White snared an INT and Joshua Collier finished with 7 tackles. Akeem Mills had 2 TFL. The Hermits lost back-to-back meetings with Winslow Township in 2024 and 2025 when Belton was stationed in Atco.
