Cherry Hill East basketball stays perfect with win over Lenape

CHERRY HILL - The Cherry Hill East boys' basketball team, ranked No. 1 in the latest South Jersey Sports Zone Top 15 high school boys' basketball rankings, improved its record to 11-0 with a 59-50 victory over No. 2 Lenape on Thursday.
It was the first meeting since the Indians captured a 48-47 triumph in last year's South Jersey Group 4 final.
2025 S.J. Sports Zone All-South Jersey third team selection Chris Abreu tallied a game-high 23 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in the Cougars' Olympic Conference American Division victory on Thursday. Jamieson Young added 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals. Justin Farber charted 9 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Chris Delgado had 10 points.
Nolan Barnes led Lenape with 13 points. Jaidyn Boyd scored 12 and Colin Myers added 11. The Indians fell to 9-2. Lenape will play Rumson-Fair Haven in the Jimmy V Classic at Central Regional High School in Bayville on Saturday at 1 pm.
Cherry Hill East has won its first 11 games in a season for the second year in a row. The Cougars play St. Rose in the Jimmy V Classic on Saturday at 7 pm.
