Emmons' Emphasis: 2025 South Jersey high school football awards

The 2025 South Jersey high school football season was historic.


Each of the five New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association public high school state championships were won by South Jersey programs for the first time ever.


Eight South Jersey teams won sectional championships.


The 2025 New Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year represents South Jersey.


This season will be remembered and talked about for generations.


In my latest column titled Emmons' Emphasis, I present my 2025 South Jersey high school football award winners. The five awards are Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Coach of the Year. Players and coaches are selected from teams that compete in the West Jersey Football League within the traditional seven-county South Jersey region. This includes Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
