Millville and Rancocas Valley headline Day 2 of Battle at the Beach at Rowan University

GLASSBORO - The second and third day of the West Jersey Football Coaches Association's Battle at the Beach high school football showcase will be hosted at Rowan University.
The action begins with KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy and West Deptford at 10 am. The second matchup includes Hillsborough and Washington Township at 12 pm.
The headliner will be Rancocas Valley, ranked No. 4 in the South Jersey Sports Zone preseason Top 15 rankings, versus No. 7 Millville at Coach Richard Wackar Stadium at 7:30 pm. R.V. won the last meeting, 15-14, in the South Jersey Group 5 semifinals in 2017. Since 2011, the series is tied 2-2.
The Red Devils reached the South Jersey Group 5 final and finished with a 9-3 record last season. Rancocas Valley led Toms River North 20-7 in the third quarter before five unanswered touchdowns led to a 42-27 loss in the sectional final. It was the Red Devils' first sectional championship appearance since 2018. Toms River North went on to win its third consecutive Group 5 state championship.
