Sean Ralph rushes for 202 yards to lead Clearview past Egg Harbor Township

HARRISON (N.J.) - The Clearview Regional High School football team wanted to get back to the .500 mark against Egg Harbor Township.

The Pioneers executed their plan in front of a packed crowd sporting a "blackout" theme with a 45-12 win over Egg Harbor Township on Senior Night.

Sean Ralph received a bulk of the carries and turned his 20 rushes into 202 yards and a touchdown.

"We needed this win," Ralph said. "We played Highland tough and we wanted to get a win before we hit the toughest stretch in our schedule."

Clearview scored on its first drive of the game as Tyler Dell hit Tayshaun Bennett in stride for a 33-yard touchdown.

The Pioneers did not look back.

Egg Harbor Township responded with a 41-yard pitch and catch from Bradley Smith to Justin Moore.

Obrian Brown extended the Pioneers' lead in the first quarter with a 45-yard rumble into the end zone. Brown found the end zone again and finished the contest with 11 carries for 124 yards and a pair of scores. Dell also contributed at quarterback with 131 passing yards as he completed five passes on seven pass attempts including a pair of touchdowns to Bennett.

Clearview won just one game last year, a 32-25 triumph over Egg Harbor Township. The 42-15 victory this season helped the Pioneers improve their record to 2-2 and increase their win total from a season ago.

"To pass last year's win total this early in the season is a step in the right direction," Clearview coach Steve Duncan said. "These kids know how much we struggled last year. This win was for us, the fans, and the community that has showed us continuous support."
