MILLVILLE — Winslow Township High School senior Cameron Miller downplayed his 30-yard touchdown catch.

Facing fourth-and-17, the Wisconsin commit reeled in a touchdown pass after beating press coverage to extend the Eagles’ lead to two possessions in the third quarter.

The score ignited a run of 21 unanswered points for the Eagles as they soared to a 35-7 triumph over top-ranked Millville in a West Jersey Football League American Division showdown at Wheaton Field on Friday night.

Miller made the play look routine.

“It was great,” Miller said. “(Jalen) Parker put it in the right spot. All I had to do was catch the ball. I’m grateful for him to put it in the right spot and I finished the rest.”

It felt like it was the knockout punch.

“I feel like it was,” Miller said. “We just played football.”

Winslow, ranked second in the latest South Jersey Sports Zone Top 15 high school football rankings, improved its record to 5-0 and staked its claim as the top team in the region. The Eagles were ranked No. 1 in the preseason rankings.

They didn’t fold under the bright lights and succumb to the outside noise leading up to Friday night’s highly anticipated contest.
