MOORESTOWN - After suffering back-to-back losses to Ewing and Lenape, the Paul VI High School girls' basketball team responded with a pair of wins.
The Eagles, ranked fourth in the latest South Jersey Sports Zone high school girls' basketball Top 15 rankings, stormed past No. 5 Moorestown, 73-43, in an Olympic Conference showdown on Monday night. Paul VI improved its record to 9-4. The victory ended the Quakers' seven-game win streak. Moorestown dropped to 12-3.
Brooke Stagliano led the Haddonfield program with a game-high 15 points. Camden Catholic transfer Kiyanna Blacks-Stewart added 11 and Keiara Sellers finished with nine. 10 different players scored for the Eagles. Paul VI will host Rancocas Valley in another Olympic Conference crossover at 7 pm on Wednesday.
Analyse Intenzo led the Quakers with a team-high 12 points, five assists, five rebounds and three steals. Rima Takla charted nine points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Grace Hanuscin matched Takla with nine points. Mae Murphy swiped a game-high four steals. Moorestown is scheduled to host Holy Cross Prep in the South Jersey Invitational Basketball Tournament at 3:45 pm on Wednesday.
