DEPTFORD - The Timber Creek Regional High School boys' basketball team extended its win streak to four games with an 86-67 victory over Deptford in a Tri-County Conference Liberty Division matchup on Tuesday night. The Chargers improved their record to 10-3.
Marcus Upton finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds for Timber Creek. Ryan Nasuti added 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and a steal. Sami Anderson tallied 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. Asa Wharton matched Anderson with 14 points. Braeden Green finished with eight points and four rebounds.
The Chargers have won four straight games since a forfeit loss to Egg Harbor Township. Timber Creek has also won six out of its last seven contests.
Cairee Cooper led Deptford (7-7 record) with a team-high 18 points and six rebounds. Jordan Williams added 14 and Brian Orio finished with eight. Williams also grabbed six rebounds. Deyon Rowland charted 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. The Spartans have lost two straight games after a trio of wins against Gloucester Tech, Penns Grove and Gloucester in the second annual Sterling High School Martin Luther King, Jr. Day showcase.
