VOORHEES - The Camden Catholic High School boys' basketball team upset Eastern, 61-58, in overtime in the Camden County Tournament quarterfinals on Monday night. The Irish improved their record to 14-9.
Luke Kennevan led Camden Catholic with a game-high 24 points and five rebounds. Freshman Bryce Clark tallied 16 points, four rebounds and three assists. Sean Welde contributed eight points and seven rebounds. Welde hit a three-pointer to force overtime. Seamus Bieg finished with seven points and six rebounds as Irish coach Matt Crawford directed his team past his brother Kevin Crawford's squad.
Camden Catholic plays Haddonfield in the Camden County Tournament semifinals at Eastside High School on Wednesday. The Irish have won five straight games.
Max Portnoy led the Vikings (22-4 record) with 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks. Damien Edwards added 13 points and freshman Devin Williams finished with eight. Coastal Carolina Sam Winsett led Eastern with a team-high five assists.
