MEDFORD - The Burlington Township High School boys' basketball team blew a 16-point lead in its season opener against Medford Tech last December.
The result was a 60-59 loss.
The Falcons led by as much as 11 points in the second meeting until they surrendered their lead with 5:33 left in the fourth quarter. 14 seconds later, Irving Singletary III drained a pair of free throws and Burlington Township never trailed again.
The Falcons held on for a 56-52 triumph over Medford Tech in the Burlington County Tournament quarterfinals. Burlington Township improved its record to 20-5.
"It was a fantastic effort by everyone," Burlington Township coach Lacey Walker said. "The first time we played them this year we blew a 16-point lead and they won by one. The guys locked in. We focused, we worked on things this week, and we had a heck of a defensive effort by Christian James.
