CAMDEN - Ayden Shansey committed to last year’s first annual D2 Sports Network high school all-star baseball game and was unable to attend.

The two-sport athlete at Burlington City High School had a 7-on-7 football tournament that was at the top of his to-do list.

Can you blame him?

It was a priority for the Blue Devils’ quarterback. The 2024 graduate set a school record for passing yards in a career (4,528) and threw 45 touchdowns in three seasons. Burlington City concluded its 2023 campaign with an 8-3 record and reached the South Jersey Group 1 semifinals.

With high school football in the rear view mirror, Shansey was able to participate in the second annual all-star baseball event at Rutgers-Camden with the Ben Franklin Bridge and Philadelphia skyline resting in the distance.

It was a moment he will remember for a long time.
