D2 Women’s Lacrosse goes to Adelphi
The Adelphi University women’s lacrosse team wrapped up their season this afternoon on the campus of Roanoke College in Virginia for the NCAA Championship game against Lock Haven University.
The Panthers prevailed in a one-sided game by a score of 16-4 and made their mark in the NCAA record books. With the win, the women capped off an untarnished record of 18-0 and came out as national champions, the third in school history and the first team to ever win as many in NCAA history.
Additionally, the 12 advantage is the largest margin of victory ever in an NCAA final. Senior Rachel Ray had six points (2g, 4a) on the day to bring her playoff total to 12 assists, an NCAA Tournament record.
