Defending Champion Blazers hold Spring Game

Chris Hart’s five-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter propelled the White team to a 17-10 victory in the annual Valdosta State Spring Football game Saturday afternoon at Billy Grant Field.

Hart’s run capped off a nine-play, 69-yard drive that covered 4:19 of the 12 minute fourth quarter. Russ Callaway completed a pair of passes for 31 yards on the drive, including a 27-yard pick-up by Jackson Dean that moved the ball to the Black Squad’s five yard line, setting up the rush by Hart.

The Spring Game concludes VSU’s Spring Practice schedule. The Blazers will host its annual Blood Drive to benefit the American Red Cross next Thursday, April 3 in the P.E. Complex beginning at Noon before holding its year end Banquet on Thursday, April 17 at the Rainwater Conference Center. VSU begins its 2008 schedule Saturday, August 23 when it hosts Fort Valley State at 7:00 p.m. in Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
