LeMoyne Wins Third D2 Lacrosse Title

THE DOLPHINS OF LEMOYNE COLLEGE captured their third national title in four years by defeating top-seeded Mercyhurst on a last second goal. Repeat tournament Most Outstanding Player, Mike McDonald (junior), scored with one second left to close a very close game in front of 22,778 fans at the NCAA Division II Lacrosse Championships at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. The 6-5 score was the lowest goal total in NCAA Lacrosse history. This is the fourth all-time meeting between the Dolphins and the Lakers. LeMoyne has won all four meetings in the series, including an 8-7 overtime victory over Mercyhurst on March 10 this season. LeMoyne is a member of the Northesast-10 Conference and Mercyhurst participates in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
